The fur adds an extra layer of texture and resistance that makes this our toughest chew available, ideal for powerful, persistent chewers who work through softer options too fast. Each roll is individually handmade, so color and thickness will vary naturally from piece to piece. The fur is completely safe, fully digestible, and will pass through bowel movements without issue.

Animal fur and hair have been consumed as part of whole-prey diets throughout the evolutionary history of carnivores. Beyond simple fiber content, research in veterinary parasitology has shown that ingested fur acts as a mechanical deworming agent, wrapping around intestinal parasites and expelling them through the digestive tract. A 2019 review in the journal Parasites & Vectors noted that wild canid populations with higher whole-prey consumption, including hide and fur, showed meaningfully lower intestinal parasite burdens than their scavenging counterparts with lower fur intake. It is one of the oldest forms of gut maintenance in the carnivore toolkit.
