A Whole-Food Alternative To Bottled Fish Oil.

Our Mackerel delivers naturally occurring omega-3s in their whole-food form, wild-caught from the North Atlantic and packed with EPA and DHA.

As a naturally oily, cold-water fish, mackerel is one of the richest whole-food sources of omega-3 fatty acids you can feed, providing both EPA and DHA in the same form found in many bottled fish oil supplements. It's also an unusually strong source of vitamin D for a fish, providing well over half the daily value in a single 100-gram serving, a nutrient most meats supply in only small amounts. Because these fish run larger than something like a sardine, they'll need to be cut down before feeding. Each pack averages 8 to 10 whole mackerel, giving you plenty to portion out over time.

Whole Fish Wild-Caught Rich In Omega-3s

Raw Feeding Fact

Fish oil sold in bottles is prone to oxidation almost from the moment it's extracted, since the same unsaturated fat structure that makes omega-3s beneficial also makes them chemically unstable once exposed to heat, light, and oxygen outside the fish. Rancid fish oil doesn't just smell off, it actually loses much of its anti-inflammatory benefit and can even generate free radicals instead. Feeding whole fish like mackerel sidesteps that problem entirely, since the omega-3s stay protected inside intact tissue right up until your dog or cat eats it.
