Novel Protein. Extremely Lean. Easy to Tolerate.

One of the leanest, most easily tolerated proteins we carry, our boneless ground rabbit is a go-to for pets with food sensitivities or a history of reacting to more common proteins.

Sourced from hormone and antibiotic free rabbits raised in Europe, this ground muscle meat is extremely lean, making it a smart option for pets managing their weight or doing best on a lower-fat protein. Because rabbit isn't something most dogs and cats have already been exposed to, it's commonly used as a novel protein for elimination diets or protein rotation. It pairs well with our supplemental raw food base mixes and works raw or lightly cooked for pets on a homemade diet.

Raw Feeding Fact

Rabbit meat is so lean that it's tied to a real phenomenon called rabbit starvation, documented in early Arctic exploration, where people who ate only rabbit for extended stretches became ill from a lack of fat. Dogs and cats process protein differently than people do, but the story is a good reminder of just how lean this meat is, which is exactly why raw feeders rotate it with fattier proteins like duck or bison rather than feeding it as a sole protein source.
