Green Tripe Ground
Unwashed. Unbleached. Nature's Probiotic.
This isn't the white tripe you'd find at a butcher counter. Our ground Green Tripe comes from the stomach lining of grass-fed and finished cattle, left unwashed and unbleached so its natural enzymes and bacteria stay intact.
Green tripe is one of the most requested items in raw feeding, and many raw feeders include it daily as a staple rather than an occasional add-in. Sourced from local, pasture-raised and finished, non-GMO cattle, this ground tripe pairs well with our supplemental raw food base mixes and can be fed on its own or mixed into a homemade raw or lightly cooked diet. Color can range from green to grey to brown depending on what the cow was grazing on, the age and breed of cow. That variation is normal and has no effect on quality. We recommend feeding green tripe in raw form to preserve its nutrients and benefits.
Raw Feeding Fact
A ruminant's stomach lining is naturally colonized with lactic acid bacteria, including Lactobacillus acidophilus, along with digestive enzymes like lipase that help break down fat. Because green tripe is left unwashed and unbleached, all of that stays intact. Grocery store tripe is cleaned specifically to remove it, which is also why green tripe has a stronger smell than the white tripe sold for human consumption.
